The San Diego Historical Society's
annual renovated historical home will include landscaping with plants
from Miramar Wholesale Nurseries, San Diego. Meier Landscape & Artistree
purchased the plant material. Bill Meier was chosen along with 20
other professional interior and landscape designers to work on the
project, called Showcase 2000. The choice and design of plants had
to reflect the look of the traditional 1830's native California,
Monterey-style architecture. The plant varieties installed consist
of Chamaerops humilis, Salvia greggii, Phormium 'Bronze Baby' and
Cistus purpurea. The home will be featured in the May issue of San
Diego Home and Garden magazine.
National University in Kearny
Mesa has recently contracted Miramar Wholesale Nurseries, San Diego,
to provide trees, shrubs and perennials. The landscape architectural
firm is Wimmer, Yamada and Caughey. The tree varieties include Liquidambar
'Palo Alto' and Ulmus parvifolia. The perennials include Hemerocallis,
Raphiolepis, and Strelitzia.
Pebble Beach Golf Course has
recently contracted Miramar Wholesale Nurseries, San Juan Capistrano,
to supply them with trees and shrubs for their 17-mile drive. The
contractor for this project is Mori Mitsugu of Green Valley Landscape
in Seaside, California.
Palmia Retirement Community
in Mission Viejo has recently contracted Miramar Wholesale Nurseries,
San Juan Capistrano. They lined two streets within the community
with shrubbery and trees. The contractor for this project is Brian
Smith of Brian Smith & Associates in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.
The 260 acre Aliso Viejo Golf Course
has been supplied with over 500 36" to 60" boxed specimen
trees by Miramar Wholesale Nurseries, Lake Forest. Tree specimens
included Cinnamomum camphora, Pinus pinea, Pinus canariensis, and
Quercus agrifolia.
The City of Irvine, California,
and the Irvine Historical Society has been supplied with
140 36" boxed specimen Oaks (Quercus agrifolia) by Miramar
Wholesale Nurseries, Lake Forest.
