| DESCRIPTION: A beautiful small, deciduous
tree, the Chinese Fringe Tree is best characterized by its four-inch
clusters of white, fringe-like flowers. These flowers drape
the branches in late spring and cover |

| the tree in a profusion
of white. The tree's two-to-four-inch ovate leaves begin to
unfurl before blossoms appear. In the fall, the leaves turn
vivid yellow. The Chinese Fringe Tree is a larger, more shapely
tree than its relative C. virginicus, which is native
to the Eastern United States. |
