Home Beautification Award Announced

San Diego, CA — Miramar Wholesale Nurseries would like to congratulate Catarino Hugo Jorge, shipping dispatcher and landscape center salesman, on earning an award for his outstanding home-gardening abilities.

On Monday, May 15, 2000, the City of Garden Grove hosted its 27th Anniversary Garden Grove Pride Awards Presentation. Hugo and his wife Marina, both avid gardeners, earned a "2000 Garden Grove Home Beautification Award" presented by Garden Grove Mayor Bruce Broadwater. The event is designed to thank residents for keeping their homes and yards in beautiful condition.

For awards purposes, Garden Grove is divided into 18 zones. Volunteer judges inspect each home in their assigned zone. A total of 44,000 homes are evaluated. Hugo and Marina Jorge’s home was one of the 22 homes in their zone to receive the Home Beautification award. The couple was honored at a banquet and presented the award for their outstanding contribution to the beautification and improvement of the community.
