Miramar Wholesale Nurseries has named Rick Dominge Nursery Division Manager, ending a search that began last August when the company restructured to keep pace with growth.
“I am excited to join Miramar Wholesale Nurseries,” said Dominge. “It’s a growing company that was looking for someone with expertise in sales and efficiencies, where I have a lot of experience.” Dominge said his goal is to increase sales by 15% each year.
Dominge has been in the nursery business for more than 25 years. His experience includes nursery management, nursery construction, water recycling, as well as plant production such as growing ornamental, color and holiday crops. He is an innovative team leader with proven strength in increasing the bottom-line through sales and cost savings with such companies as Bordiers and Color Spot Nurseries.
As Nursery Division Manager, Dominge is responsible for Miramar Wholesale Nurseries’ business planning, budgeting, budget implementation, and corporate development. As a result of the restructure, the nursery now has five directors: operations, sales, accounting, production and product development, and shipping and transportation. All five directors report to Dominge.
Dominge earned a Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and possesses an Agriculture Pest Control Advisor’s license. He was recently named Vice President of the Nursery Growers Association.
Miramar Wholesale Nurseries is Southern California’s leading supplier of landscape plant material and supplies.
