The year 1999 is gearing up to be one of the most exciting ever at the nursery. As most of you know, Miramar Wholesale Nurseries was acquired by LandCare USA. Now, LandCare USA has merged with TruGreen-ChemLawn, a subsidiary of ServiceMaster (NYSE symbol SVM). The merged companies will operate as TruGreen-LandCare. A leader in service-oriented companies nationwide, ServiceMaster has the resources and support to continue our growth and development plan. For us, it’s business as usual, but what is important is what this means to you as a customer of Miramar Wholesale Nurseries.

Our response is simple. Miramar Wholesale Nurseries will continue to be the one-stop source for all of your landscaping needs, including plant material and landscape supplies. You’ll continue to deal with the same staff of professionals and receive the quality products and services you've come to expect from Miramar Wholesale Nurseries.

Enhancing our business will be an alliance with a national industry leader. This merger won't affect the day-to-day nursery operations. However, its benefits will be substantial in the long term. According to president Tom Ewing, “As part of the TruGreen-LandCare team, Miramar Wholesale Nurseries will have access to resources required to expand inventories for the local market, as well as to further develop production to enhance orders in additional regions.” He commented, “The Miramar facility has the potential to double in size to over 300 acres of production.”
