Vista Hill CollectionNew Labeling and “Tree of the Month” Program Distinguish Vista Hill Collection

In February of 1998, Miramar Wholesale Nurseries acquired Vista Hill Nursery of Vista, CA. Although Vista Hill's inventory was moved to Miramar's nursery operations, the Vista Hill name continues to be associated with unique varieties of flowering trees and palms. Miramar Wholesale Nurseries intends to perpetuate Vista Hills plant materials and has integrated the most unique trees into their existing inventory as a new product line called the Vista Hill Collection.

Fifteen exceptional varieties have been chosen for inclusion in this prestigious collection: Brachychiton discolor, Calodendrum capense, Cassia leptophylla, Castanospermum australe, Chionanthus retusus, Erythrina crista-gali, Erythrina humeana Raja, Erythrina lysistemon, Erythrina sykesii, Michelia doltsopa, Spathodea campanulata, Tabebuia chrysotryca, Tabebuia impetiginosa, Tecoma stans and Tristania laurina. Additional trees will be added as availability allows.

In the next few months, each of them will don the Vista Hill plant tags pictured above. Both the plant tags and informational sheets feature illustrations custom-drawn by a local artist and close-up photos of the trees’ most distinctive characteristics. In addition, they will include detailed planting and care instructions to help landscapers and homeowners properly maintain the trees once they have been planted.

In conjunction with the Vista Hill Collection, a “Tree of the Month” program has been initiated. Each month a different tree from this prestigious collection is featured on a full-color flyer, complete with a detailed description, color photo and growing information. The goal of this program is to introduce these products to Miramar clients and to integrate them into future landscape plans.
